Chiropractic practitioners believe that the various structures found within the body are all linked in some way. Pain that is experienced in one area of the body is rarely discrete, and often has its roots in some other area. For example, foot pain is often associated with problems with the knees, hips, and the spine.

Because of this, chiropractors undertake a thorough examination of all patients’ spines. Chiropractors look for misalignments in the spine that may be causing problems throughout the body. Misalignments of the spine are known as vertebral subluxations. Vertebral subluxations may be managed or corrected using chiropractic manoeuvres known as adjustments.

Chiropractors will often extend their manipulations to other parts of the body. For example, in addition to manipulating the spine, chiropractors may also make minor adjustments to the ankle or the foot. These adjustments may be beneficial in helping to relieve pain and discomfort.

Some researchers have suggested that chiropractic care may be helpful in helping to address specific foot injuries or discomfort, including issues such as ankle sprains, osteoarthritis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, and other injuries.

If you suffer from foot pain and would like to find out more about a non-invasive, drug-free treatment approach that may help relieve your pain and discomfort, call your chiropractor to arrange an appointment.
